  • FFA is structured into a degree program that rewards active FFA members for progress in all phases of leadership, skills, and career development.
  • The degrees in the National FFA Organization are as followed: Discovery FFA Degree, Greenhand FFA Degree, Chapter FFA Degree, State FFA Degree, and American FFA Degree.
  • The discovery, greenhand, and chapter degrees are awarded at the local level by the FFA chapter.
  • The state FFA degree is awarded to top members in the State FFA Organization.
  • The American Degree is awarded to a group of elite FFA members at the national level.

State Degrees
  • In Texas, the state degree is called the Lonestar degree. It is the highest honor in the FFA that most high school students traditionally receive.

American Degree
  • The American Degree is awarded to the top FFA members in the nation at the National FFA Convention. It is considered one of the toughest, yet rewarding awards an FFA member can receive. With that being said, it is not gained by a lot of members due to its tough qualifications.
